Today marks another important milestone for UNBROKEN Children’s Foundation: our first fundraising campaign is officially underway.
What began as an idea inspired by one child and one unexpected moment in a riding arena is becoming something real. UNBROKEN is now an established Maine nonprofit, our federal 501(c)(3) application has been submitted, our inaugural Board of Directors meeting is approaching, and we are preparing to begin awarding scholarships to children in our community.
Our first goal is simple: raise $10,000 to help children facing grief, trauma, and life’s toughest challenges experience the confidence, connection, and hope that can be found around horses.
The majority of the funds raised will go directly toward equine scholarships and riding experiences. Funding will also help with safety equipment and other limited costs necessary to make these opportunities possible for children and families.
A riding or horsemanship session can cost approximately $80–$100. That means every donation—whether it is $25, $50, $100, or more—moves a child a little closer to the barn.
We are just getting started, and we know $10,000 is an ambitious first goal. But UNBROKEN was built on the belief that sometimes one opportunity, one horse, and one person willing to help can make a lasting difference in a child’s life.
If you believe in what we are building, please consider making a donation and sharing UNBROKEN with others.
This is our first campaign. Our first $10,000. And, we hope, the beginning of helping many children find their own strength.
Children. Horses. Hope.
